This was a series of work for my 2015 university degree show that explored life and death through symbolism in nature.
Each piece is related through sequence that portrays the anonymity of life through cocoon structures. This was to represent the notion of life and mortality as being transformative, fragile and fleeting.
My aim, through sequence and narrative, is to remind the viewer of their mortality and therefore encompass the brevity of life.
This body of work was based on the conclusion and concepts from my dissertation where I explored how death is portrayed in visual culture.
2016 commission to illustrate anatomy and nature. I was inspired by the idea of nature nurturing the body with the hummingbird being a main focalpoint of this.
This is a new series of work I am exploring currently titled Habitual Bodies.
